Turn off your main water valve
- Locate your valve, the main water shut off valve is typically located in the basement, crawl spaces, garage or near your water heater. Twist this valve clockwise until it is fully closed. If your sure if this valve has been closed properly you can go inside and turn the faucet on to ensure the flow of water has stopped.
